Targets of English Learning and Teaching

 

  1. To create a language-rich environment which provides students with more opportunities to use English in authentic situations through communicating with our two NETs (Native-speaking English Teachers) and LETs (Local English Teachers), as well as to organize co-curricular activities, extra-curricular activities, festive celebrations, English assemblies, English Wednesdays and the Games Bazaar.

     

  2. To enhance students’ reading and writing abilities by implementing the School-based Reading and Writing Programme and PEEGS.

     

  3. To enhance students’ speaking and listening abilities through providing opportunities for practice in various occasions, i.e. oral lessons, Interview Training Sessions and morning assemblies.

  4. To cater for student diversity, and to motivate students to learn English according to their ability, by providing Cambridge English Examination courses, the Top-up Programme plus the English Enhancement Programme.

  5. To expose students to Western culture, through the formal and informal curriculum and cultural enhancement activities.

  6. To implement the school’s major concern areas:

    MC 1: To boost positivity around the campus, to achieve students’ positive mindset through learning the five Core Values
    MC 2: To deepen students’ self-learning strategies and fine tune their learning during lessons, so as to improve learning
    effectiveness
